Recently, a professional body has said that remembering to renew or take out annual travel insurance is as important as remembering your suitcase and should therefore be as equally high up in your list of priorities.

A spokesman from the professional body has spoken out in an attempt to warn people that by trying to save money by not taking out a travel insurance policy, they could be getting themselves into even more financial difficulty by not taking out the proper protection. This could result in the person having to pay out thousands on something that their travel insurance policy would have covered them for.

The professional body continued to inform people about the importance of travel insurance by saying that the policy will cover people for a lot of incidents and situations for not a lot of money. The professional body also insisted that the European Health Insurance Cards are not sufficient cover on their own.

The spokesman for the body went on to say that travel insurance is just as important as your suitcase, it’s essential that you take it with you when you go on holiday because if you don’t, you are just running the risk of wasting a large amount of money.

This information comes at a time when a leading price comparison site found that four out of ten Brits were cancelling their holiday insurance and pension contributions in an attempt to save money at this difficult financial time when many people are finding that they need to find any ways they can in order to save money.
